A bit about me...
Canadian born singer and actor Jaxon Jensen has been appearing on stage and screens across Canada, the US, Mexico, Germany and the UK for nearly 2 decades. Jaxon first appeared on stage as Kurt in The Sound of Music at the age of 7 and has since had the privilege of playing many powerful and dynamic characters such as Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Angel in RENT, Billy Bibbit in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Count Almaviva in Le nozze di figaro. Jaxon made his television debut at an almost equally young age, appearing as Dwayne, the dorky boy next door in the series My Babysitter’s an Alien. Subsequently, select film & tv credits for Jaxon include Checkin’ It Twice (Hallmark), A Christmas Spark (Lifetime), and Alien Outpost (HBO).
Jaxon’s educational background includes the Bachelor’s of Music program (BMus) in Opera Performance at the University of British Columbia as well as a season in the Advanced Apprenticeship Program with Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Germany. Between his two courses of study, Jaxon moved to the U.K. where he became a resident artist at the Phoenix Arts Club in London’s West End. Over the years, he has trained under such names as J. Patrick Raftery, Simone Easthope, Layla Claire, John Chest, Lorna Macdonald, and Bernard Turgeon. Jaxon has been fortunate to have sung as a featured guest artist with symphony orchestras across Canada and internationally, such as the Symphony of the Kootenays (Mtro. Bruce Dunn), Kelowna Pops Symphony Orchestra (Mtro. Leonard Camplin), and most recently in Mexico City in La Misa de Parroquia de San Pedro Apóstol Tultepec (Mtro. Omar Bastida).
A personal highlight of Jaxon’s concert experience was in 2021 when he had the opportunity to collaborate with longtime mentor and friend Roslyn Frantz to produce a concert series in his hometown of Kelowna, Canada. Their efforts were to bolster spirits and unite members of the community through music while in the throes of COVID lockdowns and restrictions. It was met with glowing reviews and was a personal milestone for the duo.
Outside of his artistic work, Jaxon is an avid traveller. To date, he has visited or lived in over 50 countries around the globe and continues to consider himself a student of the teachings of our global community. Jaxon will tell you that his most impactful experience thus far on his journey was his 750 km. walk on the Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain. He also won’t be too shy to tell you stories from the road, like the time he spent several weeks living with (and subsequently being robbed by) a Colombian cartel, the time he left Canada alone at 16 to work with an NGO in Malawi, or that one time he forgot to pack bug spray and spent 3 days outrunning swarms of horse flies while hiking a pilgrimage route in rural Japan. Despite his occasional misadventures, Jaxon considers the things he has learned on the road to be his life’s work.
Jaxon is currently based between Canada and Mexico City and is an active member of the vibrant film and theatre communities in both places. He is a member of UBCP/ACTRA and CAEA, and feels so grateful to be able to work alongside creative minds in so many places to create art and tell stories.
Thank you for stopping by!
